Sample Investigations
Classroom investigations are at the core of what we do at TCS and form the heart of our curriculum. These investigations begin with the children’s own questions, ideas, and curiosities, and unfold through hands-on exploration, collaboration, and discovery. Teachers carefully observe, document, and guide the process, helping children deepen their thinking while keeping their voices at the center.
At the close of each investigation, teachers create presentations like the ones you see here. These documents capture the children’s work—their words, drawings, constructions, and reflections—and make their learning journey visible. Sharing this with families not only celebrates the children’s accomplishments, but also invites parents into the process, strengthening the connection between home and school.
